About
I work at the intersection of artificial intelligence and national security, helping government and defence organizations put real governance around AI systems — so they can adopt the technology at scale without absorbing risk they can't see or manage.
Most recently I was Senior Advisor and AI Governance Lead at Canada's Defence AI Centre, serving as lead governance architect for the framework supporting the DND/CAF AI Strategy. Before that I spent three years at Global Affairs Canada as Senior Advisor for AI and Emerging Technologies, leading departmental engagement on AUKUS Pillar 2 and advising senior officials on frontier AI, semiconductor supply chains, and global AI governance. Earlier postings took me to Kandahar as a political officer, to embassy threat assessment across Sub-Saharan Africa, and to the Afghanistan Task Force.
I'm not only a policy person. I hold an M.P.S. from NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program, taught creative coding at American University, spent years building interactive installations as a freelance technologist, and in 2025 built and trained a transformer language model from scratch. Hands-on with the technology, fluent in the institutions — that combination is what I bring to a governance problem.
What I Do
Governance
AI Governance Frameworks
Design and stand up the structures that let an organization adopt AI at scale: risk tiering, assurance techniques, review gates, and the enterprise readiness review and stakeholder pre-alignment that keep a framework from stalling on arrival.
Analysis
Strategic & Technology Analysis
Decision-grade analysis on frontier AI, military applications and autonomy, semiconductor supply chains, and technology export controls — written for senior leaders who need to act on it, not just read it.
Advisory
Briefings & Advisory
Executive briefings, workshops, and ongoing advisory that translate between technical reality and institutional decision-making, for teams that need to get fluent fast.
